Tailevu have a young side with the least experienced players when compared to other teams, says head coach, Samisoni Bakeitoga.
And they are determined to deliver another win, after seven rounds of the Skipper Cup competition.
Tailevu have recorded two draws, four losses and a win, before they host Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy holders Namosi on Saturday.
“Every team wants to be in the top four and now we are struggling. We have completed the first round, so we are looking forward to work hard, in our next match against Namosi,” Baikeitoga said.
“This is a young team and we are preparing them for the next round, we are progressing from our mistakes in the last game, we’ll try to work on our structure.
“Overall, we do not have any star in the team compared to other teams, where they have the Drua and Latui players. We’ve our home grown players,” he added.
Playing on their home ground for the past four games, Baikeitoga says, they are grateful for the support of their province and ex-players.
“We have met Namosi in the first game, and we will try our best on our home ground. We do not want to disappoint our home crowd, we want to work hard on that area.”
Tailevu assistant coach, Jim Nagusa is hopeful that they would give Namosi a tough game on Saturday.
He indicated that his side had shown some improvements over the weeks.
“We have been struggling for the last few games, we starting to pick now, hopefully come the second round we will be a team to be reckoned with,” he said.
“For Tailevu, as we go along, there are areas that we need to improve on, especially on our set pieces.
“The boys have put a lot of effort into making sure that things are going good for the team and hopefully come the Namosi game, we have run through all our weaknesses.
“It is a young team and not a lot of experienced players in the side, so every week we’re trying to work on our combination that will take us through the games.
“Namosi will be a tough battle for Tailevu, we are looking forward to the game, since Namosi beat us at Thomson Park in the first game. We are looking forward to give them a good run on Saturday,” Nagusa added.
