Only four provincial rugby unions have submitted their member’s vaccination details to Fiji Rugby Union so far.
This was confirmed by Fiji Rugby Union operations manager, Sale Sorovaki.
These are Tailevu, Naitasiri, Nadi and Lautoka rugby union.
As part of Fiji Rugby’s return to play protocols, provincial unions in both the Vanua and Skipper Cup competitions are required to submit member’s vaccination details for a safe return to play.
These include all teams from under-19, women’s, men’s development and senior teams.
“I don’t think there should be any excuse for the unions to not get vaccinated. The message has been clear,” he said.
“We do not want to disqualify any union. We want all 24 unions to play.”
FRU continues to urge its member unions to comply with the protocols.
“Some of the unions have slowly been sending in their vaccination update, there are still a lot of names needs to be sent in.
“The secular was sent about two months ago, we are requesting that all the unions to send in their vaccination details of their players.
“No jab, no play that is the stance that we are taking.”
FRU plans to begin its sanctioned competitions by the end of October if the Government lifts all restrictions.
“If that happens, we will give the unions three to four weeks to prepare themselves for the games,” Sorovaki said.
“We cannot play until they all go their vaccinations, and that is something that we are going to assist the government in in making sure everybody gets vaccinated.
“For the time being we can only prepare as best as we can.
“The unions need to understand that they need to get vaccinated in order to play, to be a manger, coach.
“Anyone coming to the rugby game need to be fully vaccinated.”
Meanwhile, Suva rugby manager, Nemani Tuifagalele said they are in the process of compiling names and expected to hand it to the Suva rugby union executives for submission this week.
