Fiji Airways Fijian sevens rover Kaminieli Rasaku was named the Vancouver 7s DHL Impact player yesterday despite Fiji’s 29-10 loss against Argentina in the Cup final.
He led the table with 75 points from nine tackles, seven breaks, 12 offloads and 21 carries.
The former Nasinu Secondary School student opened the scores with a try in the final where they led 5-0 in the second minute.
The 22-year-old who hails from Navunimono, Verata, Tailevu rose to the sevens arena when he played for Uluinakau in 2020; he was then drafted into the sevens extended squad.
He debuted in the Dubai 7s last year.
