Frederick Ratudradra Ralulu has described the win over Tailevu as the start of something big.

Lautoka bounced back from their upset loss to Yasawa to beat Tailevu 15-8 in their Skipper Cup clash in Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

The Teci, Yasawa native and Fijian Drua development player said that it was a tough battle to play in Nausori but they were really happy to come out with the win.

He acknowledged the team-work and bond the team has that boosted them to win.

“First time when I was asked to pick a team to play for in the Skipper Cup, I was double minded,” Ralulu said.

“But, I remembered I was born and raised up there (in Lautoka) and yes, I am here now.”

Ralulu said when he joined the Lautoka team, he noticed their big forward pack and that is one of the strengths the team has.

The side also had the likes of former Drua backrow Raikabula Moemoedonu in their forwards.

“We conceded a lot of penalties in the last few games. Today, we had less and we are proud because it was the biggest work-ons that we had,” Ralulu said.

Asked about his future with the Drua, Ralulu said: “It has been one of my goals just to be in the Drua squad and sign a contract.

“I know God put me in the Drua squad for a reason and I am not going out of here until I have fulfilled my purpose.”

Ralulu believes the Lautoka team is showcasing what God can do and he believes the win against Tailevu is one of them.
