Unaisi Ceinaturaga decided to cast her vote yesterday when she was encouraged by her parents to do so.
The 18-year-old from Sote Village in Tailevu said she was nervous and excited to be casting her vote.
“If it wasn’t for my parents I would not have voted today, but my parents told me to vote and to ensure that I circle within the box so that my vote counts,” Unaisi said.
“I hope that whoever wins this General Election will always remember that it was the people who put them in that position.”

Gavidi Rokocaucau, 65, of Sote Village said political parties must ensure that they had reached out to people.
“Only three political parties came to campaign at our village,” Mr Rokocaucau said.
“Political parties should visit and let villagers know what their party is about and what they stand for.
“I am glad to have casted my vote today and all I can do now is wait for the results and see which Government will take us forward.”
Fijian Elections Officials expected 215 voters to cast their ballots at the Sote Community Hall yesterday.
