Former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) world super middleweight champion Renold Quinland is looking forward to his fight against Savenaca Naliva, at Prince Charles Park, Nadi, next Saturday.
Speaking to SUNsports on Friday night, Quinlan said he is grateful to God for making it happen for him.
“I can’t wait, I’m excited,” he said.
Quinlan’s mum hails from Viwa, Bau in Tailevu while his dad is an Aborigine. In the early years of his life, Quinlan was raised in Nepani before he returned to Australia.
The main supporting bout sees veteran Abhay Chand of Navosa taking on hard hitting Siliveni Nawai over 10 rounds for the vacant Fiji super middleweight title.
Sydney-based heavyweight boxer Puna Rasaubale in a six-round fight takes on Lautoka’s Esire Natotomu.
The official weigh-in is on Friday, August 12, at Nair’s Dais in Nadi at 3pm.
