Chief Officer of Lomaiviti Princess 7 spends most of his time out at sea.
From a humble beginning, Peter Stephen grew up in his maternal village at Kuku, Bau in Tailevu and lived on a farm.
He first joined the Fiji Maritime Academy in 2010 as a deck cadet. He completed his training in 2015.
He got his watch keeper ticket in 2019 and became an officer.
The father-of-two had no prior knowledge about sailing or going out to sea when he first joined, and most of his sailing career was based locally.
Mr Stepehen said the only challenge he faced was missing out on his children’s milestones. He prefers to be with them whenever he is offshore.
